Mobile infovis. A new actor on the Stage
We talked about mobile infovis some time ago, but today something new happened.
I was looking at the cool features of the new Apple IPhone and I was surprised by the rich User Interface and User Experience allowed by the new mobile device.
In terms of infovis related information, iPhone also offers a dedicated version of GoogleMaps that is, as seen from the Flash demo in the web site, the best GoogleMap Mobile application ever.
Infact it seems to have good transitions, a wide screen, a complete and user friendly keyboard and a visual oriented approach that, on small devices having more and more features and information, are vital.
Apple, well done !
